I know what you're thinking, "That crappy phone company?" But actually it is a great deal, and the phone service is as good as any other company I've used around Wilmington. Plans start at 30$ a month and for that you get 300 talking minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data. Being college students we are all broke, so who isn't looking to save a few bucks here and there?
Also Virgin just got the iphone 4 and the iphone 4s. You have to pay full retail price for them which is $550 for the 4 and $650 for the 4s, but there are multiple articles online that show that paying that price for the phone with the low monthly charge of $30 for the phone plan is hundreds of dollars cheaper over a 2 year period compared to any 2 year plan from another phone service. Virgin Mobile does not have phone insurance for the iphone, but if you buy it through Best Buy you can get insurance for $15 a month that covers pretty much everything. If you don't want to pay that much for an iphone though, you can always get the new 3D android for less than $300 online.
This is just some advice from your fellow broke college student, but if your parents don't pay for your phone service I would seriously consider switching to Virgin Mobile. It's insanely cheap and the call quality is not as bad as most people think.
