This is my first year at UNCW and I was extremely skeptical about living off campus. When I toured Lighthouse, however, my mind was set at ease. Thus far, Lighthouse has been an amazing place to live. They just opened up this past summer, so everything is pretty much brand new. The furniture that is included is extremely modern and the entire apartments themselves, have a very up to date vibe. One big thing I was concerned with was security, since my roommate and I are both female. Each apartment includes its own security system and you have the ability to change your preferences so that you will be alerted whenever the front or back door is opened. There have, however, been some maintenance problems, but the office is quick about getting you help in a timely manner. The rent is also seemingly high, but I think it is well worth it for all of the amenities that the complex has to offer.
