Food in the Dub

One of the best things about living in Wilmington is definitely the food. From Front Street, which is located downtown, to Tower 7, which is located right off the main access point of Wrightsville Beach, the Wilmington food scene is alive and well. Front Street Brewery is great for any beer connoisseurs, offering a variety of brews, some of which were brewed in the same building as the restaurant. Tower 7 is great for after a long day at the beach, because it's in a convenient location and serves good mexican-style cuisine, making this place a great place to stop when you are thirsty and sandy. There are many more places to eat than those I have mentioned mentioned, including a restaurant that was featured on a Food Network TV special. You have an endless amount of places to choose from!

There are also many delicious places to eat between downtown and Wrightsville beach. PT's Grill sells some of the best burgers and hot dogs in Wilmington, and Islands' mexican food is affordable and tasty. A poor college student can go there and get $1 tacos after 5pm! Blue Asia is a hibachi and sushi place that has good deals and a lot of options. While Wilmington does have a lot of the usual chain restaurants such as Olive Garden and Outback Steakhouse, it's the small, local restaurants that really charm the tourists and locals.

If you're a vegan or vegetarian, check out the Nikki's restaurant chain in town, with 4 locations, 3 of which offer a wide variety of vegan options ranging from black bean burgers to sweet potato sushi rolls!

The best hot dogs in Wilmington are at Wrightsville Beach, at a place called the Trolly Stop. Its located near Tower 7, they accept cash only, and they're typically only open during the summer! The Trolly Stop offers all sorts of different combinations - from jalopenos on your dog to just plain ketchup!

If you are looking for an expensive, romantic date, North 22 is a great place to go! When you first see this place, it may look slightly sketchy, but as you walk inside it definitely sets the romantic mood, and also has delcious food! North 22 is located right next to Tower 7 at Wrightsville beach, and they change their menu daily - everything they serve is fresh daily!

Don't forget about dessert! Fuzzy Peach is the best place to get an amazing frozen yogurt dessert, and it was started by two UNCW students!
