BlackBoard

It can be pretty stressful when first starting classes when having to deal with orientation, signing up for classes, first day of classes and so on. Most people don't know how to use Blackboard, but it's quite easy once you get the hang of it. You will be given a username which can be identified by your UNCW email without the "@uncw.edu" (abc1234) and your password which has been given to you by UNCW. You will go to https://learn.uncw.edu/ to login to Blackboard, once you have logged on you will come to the BlackBoard homepage where you should have the list of your classes, My Announcements, Ask TAC, and Tools.

As you click on the link of your class, it takes you to the homepage of that class where it has an organized schedule of the class, find out what homework you have to do, and turn it in through blackboard if it is specified. You can also study with blackboard if your professor posts the class notes that you have gone over for review and they can even post up a Review Quiz to get you prepared for upcoming exams. One key tool that Blackboard also has is showing your grades. It is nice to be able to see where you stand, grade wise, throughout the semester.

Something to keep in mind is that not all teachers use Blackboard. If it is not an online class they are not required to use Blackboard. For the classes that do use Blackboard it is a lot of help. If you still cannot figure out how to use Blackboard you can always go to TAC, or call them for help. Blackboard is a great tool to use and I suggest that everyone learns how to use it.
